The safety spine
Safety, explained
Safety is the first line of the coaching priority stack, and the most important thing this project publishes. Risk education that convinces, with the reasons behind every recommendation.
The spine we're building
The safety library runs across every discipline: the hazards that don't care whether you're head-up, head-down or on an angle. It starts with the three that shape everything (corking, breakoff and back-fly) and grows from there.
- Corking: the speed differential that shapes everything Why cork-proofing precedes any group freefly.
- Breakoff is a skill, not an altitude The breakoff doctrine, the head-up inefficiency evidence, and the guides.
- Why back-fly comes first The recovery position is the foundation of every vertical orientation.
- Gear at freefly speeds Why a belly-standard gear check is not enough for a freeflyer.
- Exit order and separation Ground covered, not seconds counted: the logic behind freefly exit order.
- Two audibles: altitude awareness at freefly speeds Why audibles matter more in freefly, and when two become best practice.
